THE PROBLEM
A homeowner in Savoy, TX had a driveway that was no longer sitting evenly.
Sections of the concrete had settled, leaving changes in height between the slabs and creating an uneven surface for everyday walking and driving.
The concrete itself was still a good candidate for repair, so replacing the entire driveway wasn’t necessary. Instead, the goal was to lift the settled sections, improve the alignment of the slabs, and restore support underneath the concrete.
The homeowner needed a solution that would:
- Lift settled driveway sections
- Level uneven concrete
- Improve transitions between slabs
- Restore support beneath the driveway
- Preserve the existing concrete
- Avoid unnecessary demolition and replacement
OUR 3-STEP CONCRETE LIFTING PROCESS

1 Drill
Small injection holes were drilled at carefully selected points in the affected driveway sections.
These access points allowed the PolyFix crew to reach the unsupported areas beneath the concrete while keeping the repair minimally invasive.
2 Pump
High-density polyurethane foam was injected beneath the settled slabs.
As the foam expanded, it moved into empty spaces beneath the driveway and restored support where the concrete had lost contact with the soil below.
The slabs were gradually lifted to improve their alignment with the surrounding concrete and create a more even driveway surface.
3 Patch
Once the driveway reached the best possible position, the injection holes were patched and the work area was cleaned.
The existing driveway remained in place throughout the entire lifting and leveling process.
THE RESULT
The settled driveway sections were lifted and brought back into better alignment.
By filling unsupported areas beneath the concrete, PolyFix was also able to restore support below the affected slabs rather than simply addressing the uneven surface above.
The completed repair provided:
- Settled driveway sections lifted
- Uneven slabs brought into better alignment
- Smoother transitions between concrete panels
- Hidden voids filled beneath the driveway
- Support restored beneath affected areas
- Existing concrete preserved
- Minimal disruption around the property
- No full driveway replacement required
The homeowner was able to improve the function and appearance of the driveway while keeping the concrete already in place.
WHAT CAUSES DRIVEWAYS TO SINK IN SAVOY?
When a driveway becomes uneven, the problem often starts underneath the concrete.
Every slab depends on the soil below it for support. If that soil compresses, shifts, erodes, or pulls away from the slab, empty spaces can form beneath the driveway.
Without consistent support, sections of concrete can begin to settle under their own weight.
Common factors that can contribute to driveway settlement in North Texas include:
- Expansive clay soils
- Changing moisture conditions
- Poorly compacted fill soil
- Water erosion
- Drainage around the driveway
- Voids developing beneath slabs
- Repeated vehicle loads
The movement may happen gradually, which is why a driveway can appear level for years before noticeable differences develop between concrete sections.
WHY UNEVEN DRIVEWAY SLABS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED
A small difference between driveway slabs may not seem like a major problem at first.
But settlement rarely corrects itself.
As support beneath the driveway continues to change, slabs can become increasingly uneven. This may eventually create rough vehicle transitions, walking hazards, drainage concerns, or additional stress on the concrete.
Addressing settlement while the existing slabs are still repairable can help preserve the driveway and avoid a larger project later.
WHY LIFTING MADE SENSE FOR THIS DRIVEWAY
A sinking driveway doesn’t automatically need to be torn out.
When the concrete itself remains in usable condition, polyurethane concrete lifting can address the missing support underneath while raising the existing slabs.
For this Savoy project, lifting and leveling helped:
- Restore support beneath settled concrete
- Improve alignment between driveway sections
- Create smoother transitions
- Preserve the existing driveway
- Avoid unnecessary demolition
- Reduce disruption around the home
Instead of removing otherwise repairable concrete, PolyFix focused on the problem beneath the slab.
