Front Walkway Lifted at the Stoop in Whitesboro, TX

THE PROBLEM

A homeowner in Whitesboro noticed the front walkway had settled near the front stoop, leaving an uneven step between the sidewalk and the entrance. What had started as a minor height difference gradually became a noticeable trip hazard for family members and visitors.

The settlement also caused rainwater to collect near the front entry instead of draining away properly.

Like many homes across North Texas, the property sits on expansive clay soil that naturally expands during wet weather and shrinks during dry periods. Over time, this movement created voids beneath the walkway, allowing the concrete to sink.

The homeowner wanted a solution that would:

Lift the walkway back to the front stoop
Remove the trip hazard
Improve drainage near the entrance
Preserve the existing concrete
Avoid the cost and disruption of replacement

OUR 3-STEP CONCRETE LIFTING PROCESS

1 Drill
Small, strategically placed holes were drilled into the settled walkway to access the voids beneath the concrete.

2 Pump
High-density polyurethane foam was injected below the slab. As the foam expanded, it filled empty spaces, stabilized the soil, and carefully lifted the walkway until it aligned with the front stoop.

3 Patch
Once the walkway reached the proper height, the drill holes were patched neatly, leaving the repair clean and ready for immediate use.
Because the holes are small and precisely located, they blend into the concrete after the repair is complete.

THE RESULT

The front walkway was restored to a safe, level transition with the front stoop in just a few hours.

The uneven step was eliminated, making it safer and easier to enter the home. Proper drainage was also improved, helping reduce water collecting near the front entrance.

The homeowner enjoyed a fast, clean repair without replacing the existing walkway.

Trip hazard eliminated
Smooth transition to the front step
Improved drainage
No demolition required
Ready to use immediately after completion

WHY WALKWAYS SETTLE IN WHITESBORO

Concrete walkways throughout Whitesboro often settle because of changing soil conditions beneath the slab. North Texas clay soils constantly expand and contract as moisture levels change throughout the year.

As the soil shifts, empty spaces can develop beneath the concrete, causing sections of the walkway to sink and separate from the front stoop.

Polyurethane foam lifting fills these voids, stabilizes the supporting soil, and carefully raises the slab back into alignment without the mess of replacement.

Costs significantly less than replacing concrete
Most repairs are completed in just a few hours
